Supporting Leaders of the Future-Employability day
๐ฉโ๐๐งโ๐๐จโ๐When you were at school did you know what you wanted to do in the future and how youโd get there?
๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ Iโve just finished spending the day with several groups of 15 year old boys and girls who are exploring what they do in the future. #thehemelhempsteadschool
๐ก๐ก๐ก It was so rewarding to spend time with them, share insights, experiences, tips and listen to them. Having a positive impact and being a role model is so important.
We mostly talked about:
๐๐๐ CVs: what they are, why you need them, and what you include in them - only a few had really done this properly.
๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ Recognising your achievements, skills, qualities and experiences - so many are missed by them.
๐๐๐ Interviews: how to apply for jobs, preparing for interviews, and how to show up and give a great account of yourself and have impact.
โท๏ธโท๏ธโท๏ธ In my last group we went a bit โoff-pisteโ at the end. We started a debating session on โIs it worthwhile going to universityโ with half the group arguing for and half against.
๐คฉ๐คฉ๐คฉ We had some real fun and the girls debating this topic were brilliant.
๐๐๐ Such a great experience - Iโm feeling really energised.
โจโจโจ There are some brilliant youngsters out there that will be leaders of the future.
They just need to find the right support and guidance to help them shine and achieve their potential.
