Motivation

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦?

🎙🎙🎙 Today I ran a session on "𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟 & 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧" for South Cambridgeshire District Council's Leadership Academy on behalf of First Ascent Group.

It's always great to talk about this topic with leaders to:

🎯 remind them what really affects their own motivation and their teams,

🎯 explore engagement models & motivation theories to increase awareness,

🎯 identify practical actions they can take to increase motivation in their team,

🎯 foster greater collaboration and sharing of ideas between themselves.

Think about the impact the following have on Motivation in your organisation and why not ask your employees for their feedback or ideas:

💡The Leaders - how do they motivate the teams?

💡The Individuals - what motivates different members of your team?

💡The Team Dynamic - how often is the unit motivated and at their best?

💡The Culture - what values, beliefs and behaviours are demonstrated?

💡The Strategy - how do you allow your employees to provide their views?

💡 The Communication - how do you communicate with impact and inspire your teams?

If you are looking to learn more about Motivation you could explore:

🔍Maslow's hierarchy of needs,

🔍Herzberg's Motivation Theory or

🔍Use Blessing White's X-Model of Engagement.

😬 😬 😬 One theme that came up today was those struggling with work pressures and the potential for burn-out (The Crash & Burners). It's vital to stay engaged and work through with your teams how they cope in these situations whether it's helping them to prioritise activities, schedule time to recover or provide mentoring advise to keep on track.
