🤔 “How would you cope if you had to sit an exam while fasting?”
💯 This is the reality for a young person I currently mentor - GCSE mocks and Ramadan at the same time.
📈 Managing energy levels has become really important for them.
😟 It’s easy it is to assume that everyone around you is operating with the same energy levels – when in fact they probably are not.
🧠 Research from the University of Michigan shows that self regulation and cognitive performance drop sharply when energy is depleted - even in highly capable people – that’s human biology, not a flaw in character.
🎯 The best leaders have the ability to notice their team’s energy dips, create space, and adjust expectations so people can perform at their best.
🤔 So if you aren’t sure what energy level your team are operating at – why not check-in with them and ask.
