Independence of Cancer day!
Today really is a significant day for me - so I’m pausing to reflect and celebrate.
At this time last year I went into the Royal Free hospital to have 9 hours of major complex Whipple surgery to remove an uninvited intruder.
I remember the time clearly - I didn’t sleep the night before - my stomach churned - I was nervous.
But at the same time I was relieved to get there and give myself up to the medical specialists for the following eight days.
The past 12 months has been quite surreal - I still can’t quite believe what I have been through - yet here I am - Mark Freer Version 2.0 - and very grateful to be clear, healthy and happy.
This message is for anyone out there dealing with a sudden challenging set-back.
Keep going - you’ve got it!
